Yorkshire Terrier

by quickcutters on 12/5/2008 at 10:18 AM in First Post

My passion is the pure bred Yorkshire Terrier breed, I have had up to 10 at one time I don't advise this but just to many to beable to give them one on one attention. Thats not counting baths and grooming. I do all this myself. I love everyone that i have had. I have also had a few litters and was very proud of them all. You can check out my web page and there's a lot of information on there with some pictures of my babies. http://www.squidoo.com/purebredyorkies4life I am going to update it with a lot more information i just wonder what all my friends around on the site would want to know about. You can let me know if you like. This is my first time writing here so hope to met some people, feel free to email me. Happy Holidays to everyone.

Poor little Yorkie

by sands904 on 9/15/2008 at 7:23 PM in Visiting a Shelter

My husband and I visited our local shelter on Saturday looking for another dog to adopt. The first little one we saw was a female Yorkie. She had just been brought in the day before because her owners had used a childs elastic hair band to hold her mouth shut because she would not stop barking and crying for attention. Her muzzle had been shaved and there was a red scar all the way around it where the band had grown into her skin. It was terrible. I still can't believe all of the horrible things people do to their dogs.

We really wanted to adopt her but the lady there said it was likely she was going to go back to her owners who did this to her. That poor little dog. I am sure they have not changed their ways and will not love her and care for her any better than they did when they put the band around her mouth. She did have a loud bark and cry but we were their for over half an hour and she only seemed to make noise when people walked with other dogs. I think she just wanted some attention. We have our application all ready in case she doesn't have to go back to her family. I will keep you all posted...
