pure breed???

lynn7806 Contact Me Starting Member (1) Posted: 4/13/2009 9:11:09 PM	is there any way to determine for sure that a dog has not been purposely cross bred?? we bought our ckcs with kc reg papers as full bred but he is not growing much and does quite resemble chihauhaus in some ways.....the breeder also breeds these....is there any way to find out??

sands904 Contact Me Site Administrator Posted: 4/14/2009 7:00:04 AM	Hello Lynn, I don't believe there is anyway to find out if they purposely bred crosses and mislead you but I know there are DNA tests out there that can identify what breeds are present in a dog. They are not 100% accurate but it may give you a starting point. Hope this helps & Good Luck!
